The Mizumoto lab is interested in understanding basic principles of brain development. Particularly, we aim to uncover the genetic and molecular mechanisms of synapse formation and specificity during neuronal development. Toward this, we use Caenorhabditis elegans (roundworm) as a genetic model organism.
